Garden Saturday

Every Saturday Spencer and Devon go down to the FFA garden and help pick zucchini (and other veggies, but mostly zucchini). This is only one Saturday of zucchini- there is usually more! Spencer loves going to the garden, and everyone asks him to say zucchini about 20 times because it sounds so funny.

Sarah's Birthday

My birthday was on Sunday. As usual Devon made it a great day. He hid my presents and made riddles of where to find them. Here is an example "With pointed Fangs it sits in wait, With piercing force it doles out fate. Over bloodless victims proclaiming it's might. Eternally joining in a single bite." That's the only one I got with out clues, it was a stapler (that's where the present was hidden- Devon did not buy me a stapler). Here is another (it may sound familiar to you hobbit readers. "A box without hinges, key or lid. Yet golden treasure inside is hid." The answer is an egg. It was really fun to figure out the riddles. We ended up waiting until our neighbors came over to do most of them because it was more fun and easier with more people. I got a waffle maker from my mom, and lots of cool beads from Devon's mom. Devon got me lots of books and the Cosby Show second season and the this cool shelf to put my tea-sets on. We had the Whitaker's over for dinner. Devon barbecued- and it was great. Then we invited everyone who was home to come for cake and ice cream. It was a great day!

Spencer let James rock with him- okay the truth is Spencer was watching TV- so he didn't make the effort to protest- but that is a step in the right direction!

Spencer says the funniest things. He has a few balloons that says "Happy Birthday" on them. When he plays with them he says "Hi, I'm me. It's my birthday. Do you like birthday balloons? Do you like birthday parties? Come to my birthday party." He literally just had the conversation with himself. Unfortunately I haven't caught him in the act when I had the video camera out, so I don't have a video of that yet. a few days ago we were outside and Spencer said to Devon "Hi, I'm me and this is my friend mommy." Spencer loves to copy everything we say, so many times when Devon leaves Spencer says "Bye babe!: He makes us laugh! Devon is good at remembering to take videos so here are a few of Spencer being silly. The first one is him singing "Little Einsteins." He obviously knows the song a lot better than we do, so ignore the adult singing. The second one he really cam up with on his own, we just got him to repeat it for the camera.

James is growing up so fast. He loves to smile and talk. He is a very social baby. If there is no one in the room to talk to he is sad. When Spencer was a baby he would rather just be left alone. I guess it's good that James cam second so Spencer could keep him company.
