Holi Day

We celebrated "Holi Day" on Saturday. We are sad our friend Christy is gone, but i think this has become a tradition for our family. The pictures tell it all.

I must bring attention to the rainbow cupcakes, they turned out really cute.
Happy Holi Day!  Welcome spring!

Navajo Fair

Spencer had the opportunity to perform in our districts "Navajo Language Fair" last week.  He and his friend Dalton sang "The Cradle Song" in Navajo.  It sounded really good to me, and it must have been good because they took 1st place!  Spencer loves learning the Navajo Language and stories.

Gym Masters

In the beginning of March a preforming gymnastics group came to the high school to do an assembly about living drug free. James and i (and Carrie) got to go the assembly. Afterward James got to talk to a few gymnasts. He made friends with Krista. They had another performance on the weekend that we all could attend.
This is our friend Krista
Spencer got chosen to be part of the show and got lifted up really high.

The show was amazing.  They did a lot of great gymnastics, and even Carrie was engaged.  We all loved it.
After the show we got to talk to the gymnasts a little more.

James got to go up high
And Spencer started practicing his skills right away.  We really need to get this kids in gymnastics!
The gymnasts were so nice and talked to Spencer for a long time after the show and let him try things.  That is one thing I love about living here, it is so small that we actually get to know more people.  How many shows do you go to that you get to meet the performers afterward?  Good thing Devon was put in charge and hour before the show started.

Carrie's Birthday

Happy first birthday Carrie!
Spencer made Carrie some gifts, this one is a sheep.  He worked very hard on them, he is a great brother!

Carrie got a Little People Doll house, 2 new outfits and blocks.  Spencer played with the blocks all day and James played with the house, so Carrie got to wear the new clothes.
Licking the cupcake spoon

These taste pretty good.  She didn't go crazy with her cake or anything, just ate some of it in a lady-like fashion
We forgot about the birthday hats, so we wore them when we ate leftover cupcakes the next day.

We love you Carrie Boo!

We love our Carrie

I cannot believe Carrie has been part of our family for a whole year now, but it's also hard to remember when she wasn't part of our family.  She is such a cute little girl and we love having her in our family.  She started walking at 11 months is constantly moving and exploring.  She recently discovered chalk and bubbles which she really enjoyed.  Carrie loves to give hugs and will nicely pat you on the back especially when she is sad.  She also gives great slobbery kisses.  Today James was crying and she came and gave him a kiss and patted his back, it was really cute!  She loves to sit on all the neighbor kids bikes- but not her own of course.  She climbs up stairs and then tries to walk down them and has a big scratch to prove it.  She loves to be up on the couch and stands by it and cries until someone boosts her up, then she grabs everything off the computer desk and throws it on the floor.  Carrie smiles at everyone.  Everyone calls her Baby Carrie or Carrie Boo.  She still is nursing and not sleeping through the night, but we are working on that after spring break.  She is starting to let us know what she wants and has a specific grunt that means "I want that!"  She said her first word a few days ago, "Uh-oh."  Good first word for here since she creates a lot of uh-ohs in our house.  She pulls out anything she can reach.  I have to do the dishes and fold the laundry while she is asleep, I don't usually get much done when she is awake.  Carrie loves to play with her brothers and usually they let her.  She loves to play outside and stands at the door yelling until I take her out.  Carrie does not like anything on her head, so hopefully her hair will grow in soon so she can look more like a girl.
We love having this sweet little girl in our family.  She truly has a brought a lot of peace and love to our home!
