Gosney Reunion

We had our first Gosney reunion this summer.  Kelsey did an awesome job of planning it.  i will freely admit I was a little worried about staying 5 nights- but it turned out awesome.  Kelsey got a place in the mountains of Fraser, Colorado.  The weather was amazing.  we went swimming and hiking, took a trip down the windy road to Denver to visit a children's museum and the famous Casa Bonita.  Elizabeth designed the amazing t-shirts.  We had the quietest room in the house- so all around a great time!

It was even an epic enough reunion that we got to take family pictures twice- and everyone survived taking family pictures twice- so all around a good deal!

other May

Leah is still such a cute and happy baby, and my first baby who is fine with nursing or bottle.
 James is a crazy man
One teacher from the high school and one from the elementary school had a concert at Bluff fort to raise money for art and band.  The second on is Spencer's teacher this year.  He is a great teacher and Spencer can always say "I had a Rock Star for my fourth grade teacher!"
The boys took gymnastics this year.  They had a great teacher and had lots of funny learning new things. they had a "show off" at the end of the season, and got medals- i think they liked that part best.

Spencer is really good at handstands- he wins the hand stand contests pretty often.

Mother's day was great (except James threw up, but it just reminded me what being a mom is all about).  I got a mug that says "I'm a mom, what's your superpower?"  Also a bird feeder.

I always make my family go on an outdoor adventure when it's a special day.  James is always up for hiking with me.  Carrie and Leah were asleep in the car, so we didn't get to wander too far.
The flowers were beautiful- this is popcorn on a bush not an apricot tree.

We got to do Narrow Canyon 2 times this spring- that is pretty lucky. This time we got to wade.  I also hiked to the top of the waterfall, it was amazing.  The water was seeping out of the rock!  We live in such an amazing place!

Spencer's Birthday

Spencer turned 9 this year, he is such a great boy, not a little boy anymore!
In our family everyone is involved in the present opening
Spencer really wanted a Sherlock Holmes hat.  He wants to be a detective when he grows up.  So that is why we had a detective party.  They had to complete several "training exercises." Each completed exercise received a piece of the puzzle to the missing birthday cake.  Spencer thought he had it figured out since it was an ice cream cake, but he started getting very worried when the photo did not show our freezer.

This was my favorite thing- a laser maze.

Our neighbors let us put the cake in their freezer, this may have been the first time I tricked Spencer.

It was a really fun party.  Spencer is a great kid.  He has been writing a lot this summer, and even wrote a series of books with a blanket as the main character.  Right now he is making an encyclopedia of imaginary super heroes.  He is nothing if not creative.  Luckily he is other things too, like kind.  He is a great big brother to his little sisters, and even to James although he loved to tease.  He really tries hard to listen to the Spirit and do what is right.  We love this boy!
