Finger Painting

Spencer took a 3 hour nap in the morning, which put me in a very good mood, so I decided we should try a little finger painting.

Spencer looks so proud of his work in this picture. He is putting the finishing touches on. Luckily there is a little less paint on him then on the paper.

This is the floor after our adventure. It was pretty fun though- and the paint was very washable, thank goodness!

Blue Bullet Tour

On Friday our neighbor took us to see the hiking sights near our house. We rode in his car, the "blue bullet" because you needed a 4 wheel drive. First we climbed up to see a view of the school from above.
These toe-holds were carved into the rock.

This is the view from the top.

On the way up there were lots of sink holes, they were pretty deep. Devon thought about climbing into this one for a picture- but we didn't know if he could get out!

This is the view of the school from the top- it was pretty far down. "You can really see how populated the area is in this picture.

This is us on the top. It was super windy!

Next we went to find some ancient ruins. To get to them we had to crawl through some small holes. This is me crawling in.

Here is what Devon has to say about the ruins.

Devon had to slither through the holes to get out- they were pretty small.

This was the last stop on our hike. This is called "Teardrop." This took a total of about 2 hour including driving time. It is pretty nice to live in a tourist trap!

One of the best parts about going to church here is that people always bring fresh produce to share. Spencer loves the garden tomatoes!

Our next door neighbor is the art teacher. She invited all of the kids to come do some sand painting on Saturday. Spencer loved using the paint brush and sprinkling the sand. He was very proud os his "puppy" (he can say that word)

Burger King

On Wednesday it was back to school night. They had free dinner for the staff- so Diana and I took the kids to Burger King. We had a great time!

Burger King

At Burger king Spencer learned to go down the tube slide. At first he could not figure out how to get his feet in front of him before he would slide, or fall down. He was getting the hang of it though by the time I took this video.

We had a rainy day on Wednesday, but that didn't stop Spencer and his friends from having fun outside! The girls are Lara and Sadie. Who knew you could have so much fun with no toys and no money involved?!

On Thursday we had some rain storms in the afternoon. I took Spencer out to see if he liked the rain- and he really liked the puddles! He ran through them for about 20 minutes- which is longer than he does anything else. It took two days to dry out his shoes, but it sure was fun!

I had to post one more video because it was so cute!

This morning it was actually a little chilly outside, so Spencer got to wear his new jacket the grandma found at a yard sale. It is nice to have a little change in the weather.

Here are some pictures I took of the beautiful scenery this morning.

Spencer loves playing with the bus that my sister sent to him. It sings and he can push it around- it is great fun!

This picture is at the game too. this is Rheena our neighbor. Sitting on her lap is her niece- they call he "baby momma." On baby momma's lap is Rheena's daughter Saylor. Saylor's hair is great- but you can't see it in this picture. It seriously sticks up about 3 inches! She is so cute!
We went to our first Monument Valley football game on Friday. Devon was taking tickets- so we didn't get to many pictures because I was chasing Spencer. The first one is us getting ready. Spencer is pointing to the ball on his shirt. The second one is at the game. It was pretty fun- and we won! Go Cougars!

Devon went to take out the trash and the cows were taking over the neighborhood. He had to come get the camera because only in Monumnet Valley are there cows eating in people's yards. He was a little nervous to walk by some of them to take the trash out- there are a few big-horned ones!

Kayenta Park

Lat week we went to the park in Kayenta. I didn't take any pictures of this, but the actual play structure has three levels! It is huge! Spencer and Sadie love to swing though- he is working on some circus tricks in the second picture!

Spencer and Mason

Spencer and his cousin Mason are only 2 months apart in age. They had a great time playing together in Grand Junction over Labor Day.
We went to Grand Junction for Labor Day. Spencer had a lot of fun playing with his cousins. The only problem is now whenever he sees our neighbor girls, he thinks they want to play tackle and tag- but they don't know what to think.
