holi day

One of our neighbors had a party for the holiday "Holi Day" from India. It is a celebration of spring and color. Pretty much you throw paint at each other until everyone looks like a rainbow. Spencer thought it was a great way to celebrate.
i don't think it took to long for everyone to get rainbow colored.
James was not sure about the whole celebration.

This is Spencer and his friend Jackson.
James finally decided to have a little fun

Cleaning up- yes, James' hair is still purple.
It was a really fun party. I think we may have found a new tradition!

boys

Classic Spencer
Classic James, don't you love those eyes?

Family exploring

One of my family's traditions was to go on a Sunday walk when the weather was nice. Last Sunday the weather was so nice we could not resist. We huge place right over our back fence to explore, so off we went.

Here is Spencer trying out the old bed springs that we found. How did they get clear out here?
This is the church that is being built. It is looking good.
We found some horse tracks

And climbed around in a "canyon" formed by the run off in big storms.
Here is Spencer trying to help James out of the canyon. It makes me so happy to see them trying to help each other, it was also pretty funny, but they made it out.
Then Spencer tried jumping out of the swings.

He did face plant a few times, but no broken bones, so that was good. It was nice to spend time as a family.

hot air balloon festival

Last weekend it was the hot air balloon festival in Monument Valley. We didn't actually get to see any balloon take off because the morning we were going to go it was too windy, but one night they had a "glow." The balloons stay on the ground, but they light up every few seconds and glow in the night, it was pretty.
It was also fun because we could walk around by the balloons and see how huge they are. Spencer started asking the people with this balloon questions. He said "I don't know ANYTHING about hot air balloons." He asked all kinds of questions, and they were so nice to take time to answer.
We also got to see them fold it up and put it away, which was pretty neat.
Here is Spencer talking to the pilot. He has added one more thing to what he wants to be when he grows up- a hot air balloon pilot.

Crazy boys

you have to love pudding, I just can't get enough!

Devon loves to play with his new camera, and these boys are always ready to perform, especially if it means they can jump on the furniture!

I love their expressions!

Making Valentines

We wanted to make Valentines for all of our cousins and grandparents, so we decided to paint a huge paper and cut out hearts.

It was messy, but it turned out great and we got lots of Valentines done before the boys got bored.
Spencer made Valentines pretty much every day during the months of January and February. Our neighbors felt very loved! now he has moved on to Easter Eggs. A few days ago he made one for every kid in his class. He loves holidays!
