October

Spencer loves reading and doing science experiments, and he is almost to the point he can do it himself, not without a mess, but one step at a time.  He made some great bubble solution.
One day we went on a drive and found this entire property surrounded by a "fence" made of stacked rocks, that must have taken forever to build!
Over fall break we went to Salt Lake to take Leah to Primary Chidren's because the doctor thought she had a cleft gum.. Thankfully she did not, although I could have done without a 7 hour trip to learn that.  We did find out she has acid reflux which is why her breathing is always a little raspy, so I guess it wasn't all wasted.  We decided to do some fun things while we were there so we took the kids to "The Pie" pizza place we have told them about a few times.  The Dickson's joined us.
They all took a tour of the conference center, the kids were super interested in this after conference.
The next day we met up with Melissa and her kids and my parents and went to a huge corn maze activity place at Thanksgiving Point.  Since it was fall break it was super crowded, and unlike most fall breaks it was super hot.  It wasn't exactly the get together and visit your family we were hoping for, but the kids had fun.

The next day Devon and Gabe took the kids to the Nickle Cade with Aunt Elizabeth too whil I went to yet another doctor appointment with Leah.  At least we got to see a lot of family on the trip, but too many docotor's appointments in 2 days.
Turns out Leah is a pretty healthy baby and the concerns were mostly false alarms, although I did have to go back a month later for the acid reflux.  She soo cute she's worth it.

Halloween

This year we got to carve pumpkins from our own garden.  Pumpkin seeds are my favorite part.

This might be my favorite picture of these kids ever, it is so true to their personalities!
Carrie insisted that Leah should be Amber, Sophia's sister so we dressed he up as that for pictures before the trunk or treat.
Spencer wanted to make snake pizza for Halloween night.  It turned out pretty good except the snakes guts are coming out.
Leah dressed up as a cow on actual Halloween because it is a warm costume.

Leah's blessing

We were able to have Leah's blessing on October 3rd in our home.  Devon's parents came and our good friends the Dee's.  It was a very special experience and reminded us what a great blessing it is to have Heavenly Father's special children join our family.
My mom made her blessing dress, which I think turned out perfectly.  Devon's mom made the quilt behind- so cute.

Babies are a little  floppy at this age, but we had to get a picture of the whole dress.

Leah has started smiling a lot.  She is one super cute baby!

 Two months old today!

September

The boys heard about Geocaching in a book they read, so we decided to start a new family activity. The Geocache closest to our house was at Gouldings, but no one who worked at Gouldings knew anything about it.  We found out that is because it was a "virtual cache" which i guess just means a cool place to see, but no actual box there.
So this was our first real Geocahe, quiet cache.  It was super hard to find, the clue was "In the crevice of a rock", there were tons of rocks.  Devon finally found it, and here is Spencer fishing it out.
We actually found 2 caches that day, the second one was much easier.
We also went to the annual Utah Navajo Days parade that day, so we had to stop by Bluff Fort.

The best part of a parade, picking up candy.  We got 2 grocery bags full- Halloween here we come.
 Carrie wearing Devon's old jeans
Cute girls, Carrie loves her sister as long as she is not stealing all of the attention.
 A walking stick bug
 Carrie and her babies
One night a bat perched on our porch and we got the rare opportunity of watching it wake up in the evening, it was pretty neat, and a little creepy.
When Devon has game duty the boys take turns going with him.  This has worked out really well, and they have loved it.
This place constantly takes my breath away with it's beauty.
Leah at one month- I'm not the greatest photographer.
The lunar eclipse, obviously much more amazing in real life.

August catch up

Classic first day of school pics.  Our first day of school was August 13.

Carrie was heart broken to loose her two favorite friends.
Kelsey and her kids came to visit us again earlier in August.  We were so glad to have them here, just sorry we didn't get to see more because Devon had to work and I was very pregnant, but we still had a fun time.
Carrie and James are such good friends- and good enemies too.  They are quarreling or loving each other.
One day i went to the doctor and Carrie was so sad she crawled in her bed and cried.  Having a new baby sister is hard work!
Devon's stock of Powerade- the students here love it.
