Leah's birthday

Leah turned 1 the day after my birthday.  Her cute clothes are from Grandma.  Each kid got to help open a present.

Her cake turned out pretty cute.
and it must have tasted good!

Sarah's birthday

Technically my birthday comes before Leah's, although we celebrated it later this year because we had soccer and game duty on my birthday.  The boys and their great babysitter Ari planned a party while we were out to dinner, including the must have homemade pinata
This is how present opening is at our house.
The cake they made and decorated, how beautiful.  i am so luck to have such a loving husband, kids and neighbors who came together to make the celebration great.

August

Getting ready for our boating trip, good thing you don't have to walk on the boat because Leah could not walk in this.
James and Spencer love superheroes.  Spencer has a Marvel Encyclopedia and James has a DC Encyclopedia, and Spencer has both memorized.
New houses means we get big boxes from new stoves and dishwashers
 Leah is popular around here
New ice cream shop in Blanding.
 Library Prizes
Technically the second day of second grade for James and fourth grade for Spencer, i forgot the first day, and I don't know why they are wearing coats, it's probably 70 degrees.

What Carrie wants in her apartment when she grows up

Our new neighbors brought their horse from Oklahoma.  The kids loved riding around.  This may be the last horse ride for Carrie though, she had a horrible allergic reaction.

 Date to "The View"
 Leah "helping" with dishes
James and Devon went to Devon's cousins wedding, he just couldn't pass up the chance to see his grandma and his mom, and surprisingly taking one kid made things a lot easier for me.
 James and grandma visiting
Sending off the bride and groom
James woke Devon up at 5:30, so they went to Walmart.  Good use of your time i guess.
James making me jealous that he got to eat at one of my favorite places.

Other things in July

Spencer found and caught (with the help of friends I'm sure) this huge praying mantis.  We put it in our garden to eat the bad bugs.
Sunday at church, somehow Spencer never ends up looking dressed up for more than 2 minutes.
James' hair was long enough to comb, we had to take a picture since I usually keep their hair pretty short
Leah loves Diet Coke!  Just kidding, she does however love the feel of the cold cans on her teething gums.

Mustaches

Spencer made and decorated these cookies to look like the missionaries who joined us for dinner.  He is so creative.
View from the rooftops, and a garden I am jealous of- ours never looks that good, and our two new cars we purchased this summer.  Black Rhino and Silver Bullet.

Carrie and Joy always play dress up.  I guess I did kind of get a picture of our summer bucket list, it's in the background if you can read it.
Devon finally got his office all put together.
We spent a lot of evenings on the grass experimenting with Devon's new phone and the video and photo capabilities.  We have lots of slow and fast motion videos!
lots of rainbows this summer, so beautiful
A storm rolling in, and after the rain.  We have some major puddles right outside our door!

Reenacting the cover.  Carrie loves to imitate pictures she sees that are interesting to her, so this was her idea.
I have a picture of Carrie doing this too.  Leah keeps us running!

Leah found this picture of Ally and just carried it around laughing, she must love her cousins.
The boys chose some photo albums from the prize box and filled them with photos of their stuffed animals.  I am embarrassed to say how many stuffed animals they have, but it my defense most of them have been purchased with their own money.
We had lots of pictures in July because Devon has July off, so he could take them.  We love July at our house!
