the hat

I don't know if you can tell from past pictures, but Spencer wears this hat all of the time. He even wears it to bed (we take it of after he goes to sleep). I try not to remind him of his hat when it's not on because it's such a rare occurrence. Maybe that is why his hair doesn't grow so well!

Snowstorm?

We had a snowstorm today. I thought it was May, but I guess we can have Idaho weather here too! Snow on the monuments is pretty though.

Spencer loved playing in the snow. He is a ruthless snowball fighter!

Cowboy

Spencer found Devon's cowboy hat the other day (after James knocked the hat stand onto the floor). He had to get his horse, and binoculars to complete the outfit. Note: he has decided that for now it is okay to smile for pictures- hooray!

Here is cute James. He is getting into EVERYTHING now days. At this very moment Devon is putting child locks on out cupboards. I really hope they work!

Picnic

We went on a picnic on Saturday. there are no real parks around here so we went to the head-start playground. Spencer was talking about the picnic all week. He would say "We are going on a picnic to a playground with lots of toys!" They have this cool digging thing, but Spencer was not quite big enough to work it by himself. This is our neighbor Lewis helping him.

James had his first ride on a slide. He looks happy at the top- he was not so happy at the bottom, some day he will love it!

Spencer climbed his first tree, with no help! Climbing trees is one of those things that I am not going to teach my kid to do, they figure it out soon enough- and it looks like Spencer has. He was so excited!

Easter Egg Hunt

We actually had out Easter egg hunt on April Fool's day. All of the family's with kids were leaving for the weekend, so our Easter bunny came early. Spencer was so excited about the egg hunt. We have re-hid and found the eggs many times since then! Happy Easter!

Melissa and me

My sister Melissa and her baby came to visit us last Monday. It was so fun to have them here! James loved having someone smaller than him to pick on and crawl over, and Spencer loved having someone who has as much energy as him- that's Melissa. I loved having another grow-up to talk to in the day; all around good times. Here we are at "artist's point" in the valley. If you haven't seen this yet- or even if you have you really need to come visit!
