cute pictures

Here are some cute pictures of the boys. Spencer has finally decided that it is okay to look at the camera and smile.

Brothers

So I haven't been very good at posting- especially considering that we have such a cute new baby to blog about. He is very cute- but he really likes to be held, and Spencer really likes attention too, so time to post is scarce. Anyway, I think James and Spencer look a lot alike- but they still look like their own person. I keep looking at baby pictures of Spencer and thinking, wow, that looks like James, but in the pictures James looks different. Anyway, here are two pictures where they look a lot alike.

Ravenous Fish

On Sunday we went to feed the ducks. We really ended up feeding the fish. The pond was full of these huge fish, and the would jump out of the water and get the bread before the ducks could. Devon tried to catch one with his hands, but they were too slippery. Spencer had a fun time though.

James Gabriel Gosney

James Gabriel Gosney was born on June 28th, 2009, at 2:58 pm. He was 8 pounds, 7 ounces, and 20.5 inches long. Sarah actually went into labor at about 9:00 pm the night before, and enjoyed a relatively short labor compared to Spencer (27 hours). Sarah was able to do a v-back, which for those who don't know, is when you give birth vaginally after having a c-section the previous baby. James did not have to spend anytime in the NICU like Spencer, and is in good health, although he isn't the best eater. However, he made up for that last night, by sleeping almost 5 hours straight. Spencer is adjusting better than one might expect, but he's still going through "Mommy withdrawals." Luckily, Sarah's mom is here helping out, and he loves playing with Grandma.

3 amigos

On Sunday Gabe and Deon's families were over for dinner. They both have boys very close to Spencer's age (less than 5 months apart total). We tried to get a picture of them, but the are all around 2- so none of them turned out too great- and we had to turn on "Curious George" to get them all on the couch. The first few are pretty cute, and the last ones just made me laugh- because they show what the photo shoot was really like.

Silly Hat

The other day I washed some of our "neutral" baby clothes in hopes that it would help the baby decide to come. No such luck, but Spencer wanted to try on this hat. We thought he looked pretty funny. When I asked if we wanted to take it off he said "No, I look good!" He's pretty sure he is cute. The second picture is just classic Spencer!

You should see the other guy!

Spencer got his first black eye yesterday. I thought we should take pictures of it since I haven't updated our blog for so long. We really have been so busy since we have been here, but pictures of throwing up and helping people move aren't that exciting.
So yesterday we went to the park with Spencer's cousins Jase and Anna. It was pretty rainy (apparently it's not summer yet here- but love the cool weather) and Spencer slipped on the toy and hit his eye on the stairs. He recovered quickly because he wanted to go play- but it swelled up pretty big. He is a tough kid!
