Devon's Birthday

Devon's birthday was a few weeks ago. I know I am way behind on our blog. Anyway, here are some pictures of the festivities.
Here is Spencer painting Daddy's birthday sign. Spencer loves any kind of art, coloring, chalk and of course painting. This was a great masterpiece.

Here are Devon and Spencer opening presents. Devon couldn't do it by himself, of course. Here they are opening "The Office" desk calendar and "Settlers of Catan." Devon will be teaching Spencer to play that game soon since I'm not a big fan!

This is Devon's "cake." It's actually "Scotcheroos" which are Devon's favorite dessert. We ate them and plenty of other junk food while watching the Super-bowl with our neighbors. It was a great day!

Nephi

We got a "Book of Mormon Reader" for Spencer for Christmas. We have been reading from it before bed. He learned to say "Nephi." It's pretty cute!

100% boy

Spencer loves balls. The first thing he does every morning is take every ball from his room to the living room. He plays with them all day long, and usually sleeps with one at night. He likes to gather all of the balls to the couch to watch "Curious George." I am sure they enjoy it as much as he does!

Christmas

We went to temple square over the Christmas holiday. It was so pretty. Spencer loved the lights, but mostly he just wanted to go "up" on the temple. The second picture with the temple reflection was taken by my sister. She is a better photographer than me!

I cannot believe that Spencer actually sat on Santa's lap. He was so stranger shy during our whole trip- but he was fascinated by Santa, he just stood in front of him with his mouth wide open for like 30 seconds. It was really cute!

Here are the traditional Christmas Eve pj's. Spencer was pretty excited about his "puppies", even though they were huge on him.

This is Christmas morning. Spencer loved his presents and was actually happier than I expected him to be. By the end he was pretty much done with the excitement. Next year I think he will be really excited!

These are some funny pictures of things Spencer did on our trip. Spencer loved listening to my sister's MP3 player. He was dancing around and singing "la la la" to "Kiss the Girl." It was so funny!

This is him lounging on Charlie and Aurora's new couch watching George- now this is the life! Spencer got to spend a lot of time with the Clift crew because we were looking for a car and trying to sell our car while we were in Provo. We ended up staying a few extra days, but we got everything worked out. Thanks for all who helped us so much!

Proof that it does snow in Monument Valley

It was pretty cold today, but I was surprised to look outside and see it snowing. I love the snow, so I made Devon and Spencer bundle up and come enjoy it with me. Spencer apparently doesn't remember the snow last year, he thought it was just cold, and sticking to his face! I am excited that it snowed though- now it can feel like Christmas!

At the beach

We went to the beach while we were in San Diego over Thanksgiving. It was pretty cold, so we thought that would deter Spencer from the water. Well, it didn't. So he went from a nicely dressed, warm boy to a white trash baby hanging out in his diaper. The last pictures says it all, we were chasing him into the water the whole time. We'll have to go back when it is warm and let him go crazy (maybe with a swimsuit this time!)

San Diego Zoo

We went to San Diego for Thanksgiving. We stayed with Devon's aunt and uncle. It was a great time! On Friday we went to the San Diego zoo. These are some kids we found along the way J/K. Some of Devon's cousins came with us, McKay, Blake, and Annika.
Our favorite part of the zoo is the aviaries. It is like you get to walk into the cage with the animals, and the birds fly all around you. The bird i the second picture walked right up to Spencer. He was so shocked he didn't talk or move. Here are some more cool aviary pictures.

We got to ride on the Skyfari, which was really great because it takes you clear across the park. I thought Spencer would be nervous- but he loved it! He was sad to get off! The other kids loved it to. We got to go on it twice.

Spencer's favorite parts of the zoo were climbing through the tunnel, petting the goat and ride the Merry-Go-Round. He enjoyed the rest too- but those were definite favorites.

Here are some more cool pictures of the zoo.
